My four-year-old daughter is truly one-of-a-kind. Though she loves the color pink, princesses, frilly dresses, and taking care of baby dolls, she can also "run with the boys". Eager to do everything her older brother does, she gets right in there with him and his friends. One minute she'll be having a tea party; the next she'll be building a mean tower out of Legos. I marvel at the fact that this beautiful, small (but feisty) human being is actually mine, and that I was chosen to be her mother. Sassy, creative, and affectionate, she brings me to the brink of insanity and then fills my heart to bursting with joy. Right now, she's not worried about measuring up to anyone else's standards. There are plenty of messages the world ... Read More...
New Book Release!
I am excited to announce that my new book, Bucking The System: Reclaiming Our Children's Minds For Christ, was released last week! It has already sold several copies. In many ways, I feel like I have just given birth. This is the fruit of a lot of labor, and I am grateful to finally share it with you, my loyal blog readers! Click here to read a sample excerpt! With so many days on stay-cation, I was worried that jumping back into our normal school schedule would be horrible difficult. It ended up being a very smooth transition, however, and here is where I can attest to the power of intercessory prayer, ladies! The kids were cooperative, eager ... Read More...
Parented By The Father to the Fatherless
A few weeks ago, our daughter came into our room during the middle of the night saying she was afraid of the thunderstorm going on. My husband volunteered to stay with her so she wouldn't be scared, and she ended up falling back asleep almost right away. With the scary storm still raging, she was no longer afraid because her daddy was right there beside her. Often times, God will use our children to teach us how He desires to interact with and provide for us. He gave me a very clear picture that morning: He is my Heavenly Father who comforts and protects while the storms of life rage around me. I've believed this with my mind, but not necessarily with my heart. In the midst of all my daily parenting responsibilities, I tend to forget ... Read More...
