What exactly is anxiety? How do we cope with it? And can we experience it while still having faith in God?
Courtney Devich, author of Mama’s Got Anxiety: But It’s Not Going to Steal Her Joy, joins me on the podcast to share valuable, faith-based tips for managing anxiety so we can enjoy motherhood.
As a stay-at-home of 3 and mental health advocate, Courtney writes with a heart for the mom struggling with anxiety or depression. Her writing has appeared in Her View from Home, TODAY Parents, and For Every Mom, among others.
During this episode, she discusses what anxiety looks like as a mom and its effects on our ability to parent with joy and focus. She also shares several practical steps to take control of your thoughts and fears, along with specific ways to stay grounded and joyful.
Anxiety doesn’t get to define us. It’s a footnote in our story, and yes God can use it for good and to bring us closer to Him, to grow our faith and our trust in Him, but really it is not the boss of us. We only report to God. Anxiety in motherhood can be debilitating, but we don’t have to let it be and let it steal our joy.
